How these numbers are made

Every figure comes from aggregated Napper sleep logs, only what parents entered, averaged within each baby first and then across babies, so every baby gets one vote. No individual baby or family can be identified. These are records, not clinical measurements: night wakings are parent-recorded, and quick night feeds and wakings a parent slept through often go unrecorded, so real nights have more wakings than these numbers show. The babies are those whose families use the app and log their days, so the figures may not describe your baby; the Data page says who is in the data. No nugget filters out unsettled weeks. Each nugget's page gives its exact method, time window and sample size.
